Planned Systems International Inc. has completed a global deployment of the company’s blood donor management system for the Defense Department‘s Armed Services Blood Program.
The system employs a centralized database built to manage and monitor blood donor registration, screening and blood products for U.S. military and civilian personnel, PSI said May 12.
PSI CEO Terry Lin said the company aims to help improve care for service members and continue health services across the entire military community.
The company also trained more than 400 end users, completed the installation process and transitioned legacy data to the new blood donor management system.
PSI collaborated with Mediware Information Systems as well as the DHA Enterprise Blood Management System Program Office, the Armed Services Blood Program Office, Air Force, Army, Navy blood program offices and blood donor centers worldwide on the project.
