John Mikal, an Air Force Reserve lieutenant colonel and test pilot for the KC-46A tanker aircraft, has been appointed by Modern Technology Solutions Inc. as site lead for the company’s operations at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
MTSI said Tuesday Mikal succeeds Don Blanton, who was recently promoted to director of the flight test business unit within the company’s defense services division.
Mikal will work to provide flight test support services at Edwards AFB.
He previously served as a test director for the Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle test program.
Alexandria, Virginia-based MTSI is an employee-owned firm that works to provide unmanned systems engineering, flight test operations, ballistic missile defense, intelligence, software engineering and other technical support services to government and commercial clients.
