DEW Construction has received a $23 million contract from the General Services Administration to perform updates to the land port of entry facility in Derby Line, Vermont.
Robert Zarnetske, administrator for the New England Region at GSA, said Monday the project is scheduled to start by the summer of 2016.
“Upgrading one of the key commercial ports of Vermont while strengthening our border infrastructure are important priorities,â€Â Zarnetske added.
The LPOE project covers the construction of a commercial inspection facility and main port building, installation of a photovoltaic solar array and updates to the lighting system, water service, fire protection and stormwater systems.
The Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection occupies and runs the LPOE facility in Derby Line.
Williston, Vermont-based DEW Construction provides construction services across upstate New York and Northern New England.
