Grant Thornton has promoted Jim Copeland to the role of chief operating officer for the accounting and advisory firm’s operations in Canada.
GT said Wednesday Copeland moves to the position from his previous roles as national managing partner, advisory services and national manufacturing leader in the firm.
“Jim will be responsible for ensuring a cohesive go-to-market strategy and effective alignment between geographic operations and our assurance, tax and advisory service line strategies,” said Kevin Ladner, executive partner and CEO for GT in Canada.
“Bringing [more than] 30 years of experience to this role, Jim has been a trusted strategic, operational and financial advisor since joining the firm in 1982 – driving exceptional client experiences and helping to move the firm forward,” Ladner added.
Copeland will also oversee marketing, clients and services teams and serve as regional managing partner for central Canada, Grant Thornton said.
