The CSRA subsidiary CSC State and Local Solutions has received a five-year, $96 million contract from Alabama’s state supercomputing agency to provide network and internet connections to 550 institutions within the state’s academic community.
CSRA said Wednesday the recompeted contract covers services to support schools, school districts, community colleges, universities and libraries across Alabama.
Paul Nedzbala, executive vice president for CSRA’s health and civil group, noted one of the company’s predecessor identities has partnered with the Alabama Supercomputer Authority since 1993 to deliver supercomputing and network services to state academic institutions.
CSRA supports ASA’s supercomputer center in Huntsville and maintains a state broadband network that transmits video, voice and data.
The company further noted it also works to provide web development, security, disaster recovery, hosting, consulting and network design services for Alabama school systems.
