General Dynamics plans to offer a cyber monitoring service to industrial control system operators through the company’s information technology business unit as part of a push to expand into the ICS market.
Bernie Guerry, senior vice president of the intelligence solutions division in General Dynamics’ IT unit, said Tuesday the company aims to bring its military-grade cybersecurity services into the commercial sector in an effort to help companies protect their business operations and assets.
NexDefense announced its partnership with the defense contractor Tuesday for cyber monitoring services to industrial control system customers.
General Dynamics said the commercial cyber services organization within its IT business will utilize an Industrial Network Anomaly Detection system located at General Dynamics-run security operations centers throughout the U.S. to monitor industrial control systems for clients.
INAD is designed to help cyber analysts detect ICS deviations as well as alerts the customer of security threats to a network, according to General Dynamics.
The company said its SOCs and incident response teams will work to deliver 24/7 monitoring services intended to help ICS operators avoid cyber attacks and respond to threats.
