Belden has updated the company’s industrial security appliance offering to include support for energy-specific communication protocols meant to help guard power generation and transmission facilities against cyber threats.
The Tofino Xenon platform works to counter malicious and unauthorized access, increase supervisory control and data acquisition system and secure industrial control system devices, Belden said Tuesday.
“Protecting the critical infrastructure that drives every nation’s substations and power generation systems requires an industrial-focused solution,†said Rekha Shenoy, vice president and general manager of cybersecurity for Belden.
Shenoy added that the company aims to help “address the requirements of special purpose networks in the energy industry.”
The appliance is designed to comply with the ISA99/ IEC-62443 cybersecurity standards and the North American Electric Reliability Corp.‘s critical infrastructure protection requirements.
Belden refreshed the Tofino Xenon appliance as part of the company’s cybersecurity efforts.
