Lockheed Martin has won a $16.2 million contract to help the U.S. Air Force build an integrated system for the military branch to manage air-to-ground and air-to-air combat missions in a peer threat contested environment.
Lockheed’s aeronautics business will provide software, hardware and reports for the development of an integrated Distributed Battle Management infrastructure, the Defense Department said Monday.
The Air Force Research Laboratory received two offers for the initiative and is obligating $6.9 million in fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
Contract work will occur at Lockheed’s facility in Fort Worth, Texas, through Dec. 21, 2018.
