Textron Systems has received an $11 million order for radar and electronic warfare test station systems from the U.S. Air Force as part of an effort to fulfill the service’s avionics testing requirements.

The 12 Advanced Radar/EW Test Station Automatic Test Equipment systems are meant to replace the old ATE systems in support of the Air Force’s B-1B Lancer strategic bomber fleet, Textron said Tuesday.

The integrated ARTS ATE units are designed to address the ALQ-161 Defensive Avionics Systems‘ testing requirements, the company added.

Steve Mensh, senior vice president and general manager of Textron Systems’ electronic systems segment, said the new test station architecture also works to support potential Air Force requirements in the future.

The Air Force uses the radio frequency test equipment to assess various avionics systems in the commercial, defense and space sectors.
