Praxis Aerospace Concepts International has partnered with Griffiss International Airport in Oneida County, New York in an effort to help NASA explore methods for the safe integration of unmanned aerial vehicles into the national airspace system.
PACI said Monday it will support a UAV test site at Griffiss International Airport under a potential five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that Oneida County holds with NASA.
The N.Y. site will employ a range instrumentation system that comprises SRC‘s LSTAR three-dimensional radar and Saab‘s Sensis wide-area multilateration sensor technology.
NASA collaborates with UAV testing areas selected by the Federal Aviation Administration to help identity strategies to address potential safety and operational challenges for the government’s planned unmanned aircraft integration in civil airspace.
Southern Nevada-based PACI works with government and commercial organizations to help them research, build, test, evaluate and implement multimodal robotics and unmanned technology.
