Harris has acquired two orders worth an estimated $29 million combined from an undisclosed European customer to provide Falcon tactical radios.
The company will supply its Falcon product line, including AN/PRC-152A wideband networking handheld radios, AN/PRC-117G multiband networking manpack radios and AN/PRC-150C HF/VHF tactical radios as part of a standardization program that seeks to address interoperability challenges during coalition operations, Harris said Thursday.
Chris Young, president of Harris’ communications systems business, said the radios will work to secure the customer’s interoperability with U.S. and NATO forces as well as facilitate situational awareness through wideband networking.
The Falcon tactical radios aim to support simultaneous voice and networked data transmission, satellite communications and legacy narrowband interoperability and long-range voice and data communications, Harris added.
