general-dynamics-logo2General Dynamics has received a $9.1 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy to produce five Common Aviation Command and Control System.

The company will provide limited deployment units of the aviation command-and-control system, with work performed in Arizona, Maryland, Alabama and California through September 2017, the Defense Department said Monday.

The award exercises a contract option that raises the number of produced CAC2S LDUs to nine and uses the U.S. Marine Corps’ fiscal 2016 procurement funds.

The Marine Corps Systems Command solicited and received four proposals for the contract modification via a limited-source competitive procurement process.

General Dynamics designed CAC2S to help Marine Corps operators share mission voice, video, sensor and other command-and-control data.
