A business unit of Chantilly, Virginia-based defense contractor Vencore has received an estimated $7.7 million contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency for research on a computer network defense program.
Vencore Labs will provide research, development, test and evaluation services for the DARPA’s Extreme DDoS Defense program, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
DARPA will obligate $2.1 million from fiscal 2015 and 2016 research, development, test and evaluation funds for the work to be conducted in New Jersey, Virginia and California through April 2019, DoD added.
The XD3 program works to bolster computer network defense resilience against distributed denial of service attacks through cyber attack dispersion, characteristic and behavior disguising for adversary deception and adaptive mitigation techniques.
