NASA has awarded Booz Allen Hamilton a potential five-year, $33.9 million contract to provide operations and maintenance services for the agency’s aviation and railroad incident reporting programs.
Booz Allen will support the Aviation Safety Reporting System and the Confidential Close Call Reporting System for the agency as well as help research and develop similar systems, NASA said Thursday.
The company will perform work at its facility in Sunnyvale, California.
ASRS is built to collect and analyze safety incident data for NASA, Federal Aviation Administration and research organizations to determine accident probabilities, identify national aviation system deficiencies, formulate policies and strengthen aviation human factors safety strategies.
The human systems integration division of NASA’s Ames Research Center manages the contract, which contains two base years and three option years.
