Sandia National Laboratories is looking for potential partners who will lend equipment designed to detect, track and intercept potential threats from adversaries’Â unmanned aerial systems.
The research laboratory aims to help interested vendors evaluate the capabilities and limitations of their counter-UAS technologies and assess the system’s potential in securing various facilities, DOE said March 1 in a FedBizOpps notice.
Sandia Corp., a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, runs the lab for DOE.
Researchers will test if vendor-provided systems can sense threats at least 3.6 miles from a facility and neutralize up to four adversarial drones simultaneously before aerial vehicles cross a site’s perimeter.
Interested parties can submit technical information on their offerings to Sandia National Laboratories until Wednesday.
