Boeing has teamed up with South Africa-based defense and aerospace firm Paramount Group to develop an integration mission platform for a military variant of the Advanced High Performance Reconnaissance Light Aircraft.
Boeing said Tuesday it will design the mission system for the Mwari aircraft to support light strike operations as well as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
Jeffrey Johnson, vice president of business development for military aircraft at Boeing, said the collaboration seeks to promote technology development in Africa and help Boeing access new markets.
The partnership builds on an agreement signed by both companies in 2014 to develop security and defense platforms for international markets.
