Cohort subsidiary SEA will design and provide external communications system for the U.K. navy’s submarines under a potential $24 million BAE Systems order for the second stage of the Common External Communications System.
Cohort said Thursday the order builds on an initial contract awarded in 2009 and a previous order in October 2014, which required ECS installation across all classes of the U.K. navy submarines.
The company added it expects further orders from BAE when SEA finishes work for the second-stage order in 2017.
The U.K. navy’s cECS supports the integration of new communications equipment into the naval vessels.
