Airbus‘ defense and space subsidiary and Actia Telecom have landed a contract from the French defense procurement agency to install naval satcom terminals on 17 French navy vessels.
The two companies will work together to equip the vessels with the Comcept broadband communication system, an all-IP network utilized by the French armed forces in 2015, Airbus said Monday.
The team also aims to accomplish installation of teleports in France and other territories in an attempt to strengthen the French defense ministry’s terrestrial network connectivity.
Airbus Defense and Space delivered the Comcept network to the French army in April 2015 as part of a development contract with the French DGA in 2012.
