Mike McConnell, former director of national intelligence, has joined Securonix as a member of the company’s senior advisory board.
McConnell is a retired military officer and has served as chairman of the board of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance before former President George W. Bush appointed him as director of national intelligence in 2007, Securonix said Wednesday.
“McConnell brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise addressing some of the country’s largest and most complex data protection and security concerns,” said Securonix CEO Sachin Nayyar.
McConnell also worked with Booz Allen Hamilton, where he helped establish the company’s first information security business prior to joining INSA in 2005.
Earlier in his career, he was the director of the National Security Agency between 1992 and 1996.
