The Federal Aviation Administration plans to award security consulting firm Mischel Kwon & Associates a single-source contract to continue to provide cybersecurity methodology support services for FAA’s security operations center.
FAA’s William J. Hughes Technical Center said in a Feb. 9 notice posted on FedBizOpps the contract has a base period of six months and three option months.
The contract is part of the agency’s efforts to protect its information technology infrastructure from potential cyber threats.
According to the presolicitation notice, work under the contract must be carried out before the FAA awards a competitive follow-on contract in support of the agency’s cybersecurity management center.
The agency is scheduled to issue a request for proposals for the follow-on contract by the second quarter of fiscal year 2016.
