Concurrent Technologies Corp. has received a 2016 Edison Award in the energy and sustainability area for the company’s laundry and shower recycle/reuse product.
SYLAS-R2 will be displayed at the 29th Annual Edison Awards Gala in New York on April 21 to receive the award along with other winners, CTC said Thursday.
“Our team is proud to have designed a system that makes a significant impact on water usage by efficiently processing and recycling some 90 percent of greywater generated by large commercial, governmental or institutional users,†said TJ Piro, CTC’s SYLAS-R2 project manager.
Piro added that the product was designed to help the Defense Department “reduce water resupply needs at forward operating bases.â€
SYLAS-R2 works in a three-stage filtration sequence that comprises backwash recirculation and reverse osmosis.
