Cambridge International Systems has received a five-year, $36 million contract to maintain and update the Customs and Border Protection agency’s cargo processing systems in an effort to help secure the nation’s border.
CBP uses the system to process the import and export of shipments; collect more than $20 billion in duties, tariffs and fees each year; and confiscate illegal shipments, Cambridge said Monday.
“We are excited to work alongside Customs and Border Protection and the trade community to facilitate international commerce,†said Julie Partridge, Cambridge director.
Cambridge, Abacus Technology, Accenture Federal Systems, SAIC and Sure Secure Solutions will work together to develop and transition new functionality, maintain existing applications and engineer new systems.
