CAE has secured a contract to supply the Canadian coast guard with a simulator for both Bell 412EPI and Bell 429 helicopters.
The contract awarded by Public Works and Government Services Canada covers the CAE-built 3000 Series simulator equipped with two cockpits for the two Bell Helicopter-built aircraft, CAE said Thursday.
The Canadian coast guard uses the helicopters to conduct fisheries and maritime security operations.
The company will deliver the flight simulator to Transport Canada’s training facility in Ottawa in 2018.
The helicopter simulator has the CAE Medallion-6000 visual system, vibration platform and a 12-foot dome display and will work to help the service personnel perform virtual training for sling load tasks and other operations.
