Rockwell Collins has deployed a network for Korea Airports Corp. that works to facilitate air-to-ground data communications.
The Very High Frequency Digital Link Mode 2-based network works to help aircraft receive messages related to pre-departure clearances, air traffic control and other airline operational control data through the use of the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System, Rockwell Collins said Thursday.
ACARS is an air-to-ground platform intended to allow airlines to transmit data communications with aviation authorities, air traffic controllers and other operations facilities.
Yun Chong, vice president of commercial aviation services at Rockwell Collins, said the implementation of the network aims to strengthen its partnership with South Korea and other countries and facilitate flight safety and efficiency.
