A report from Raytheon and the National Cyber Security Alliance suggests organizations can encourage more young people to pursue careers in information technology security through awareness programs, Fortune magazine reported Monday.

“We need to do a better job at communicating what we do,” David Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services unit, was quoted as saying.

Raytheon and NCSA have found that U.S. companies were seeking close to 50,000 Certified Information Systems Security Professionals during 2014, the magazine reports.

Wajsgras told the publication that Raytheon has partnered with several other companies and government agencies to help school counselors and teachers better understand cyber-related jobs.

He added the partnership aims to deploy cyber professionals at schools to facilitate hands-on classroom activities and demonstrate IT security concepts to students.
