Cubic Lands Marines Contract for Ground Combat Training Tool; Bill Toti Comments

Cubic Corp.’s global defense unit has received a $2.1 million contract to build a ground-based combat training tool for the U.S. Marine Corps.

The Instrumented-Tactical Engagement Simulation System II works to simulate threats in real combat situations, Cubic said Thursday.

I-TESS II has several components, such as rocket-propelled grenades, mobile command-and-control systems, laser detection tools, small arms laser transmitters and AT-4 anti-armor simulators.

Bill Toti, president of Cubic’s global defense unit, said the company’s partnership with the service branch seeks to prepare Marines through the use of training systems that work to simulate live battle scenarios.

The delivery order also covers instructional videos and software upgrades to the system.
