Stephen Parker, vice president for cargo helicopters and H-47 Chinook program manager at Boeing, said the company aims to secure 150 direct commercial and foreign military sales for the Chinook helicopter through 2022, Defense News reported Monday.
Aaron Mehta writes that Parker told reporters at the Association of the United States Army event that the projected international orders and the Block 2 upgrade program could further boost Boeing’s production through the 2030s.
The report said the Chinook program currently has 19 customers and 30 options for potential foreign military sale agreements.
Randy Rotte, head of business development for cargo helicopters at Boeing, added that the Chinook’s sales performance abroad could be based on customer considerations such as cost effectiveness, reliability and price as well as world events.
