Three companies have won positions on a potential five-year, $49 million contract to build prototype sensors for the U.S. Navy to use during force-protection, intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance operations, Military & Aerospace Electronics reported Monday.
John Keller writes Northrop Grumman, Consolidated Resource Imaging and Manufacturing Techniques will compete for task orders to develop and deliver sensor systems for different clients.
The contract has a one-year base period and four option years, Keller reports.
Northrop is a provider of Xetron Computer Cosite Model that works to assess cosite mitigation processes through computerized modeling, while MTEQ develops sensor prototypes for the Defense Department and intelligence community.
CRI develops sensor systems designed for aerial ISR operations and offers services related to data storage and processing, aerial cinematography, flight operations, systems integration and aerial imagery stabilization.
