Kevin Ramundo, a Raytheon spokesperson, has said the company took “corrective actions” following an independent review of its development work on operational control systems for the U.S. Air Force‘s GPS satellites, Bloomberg reported Friday.
Raytheon was awarded a potential $886 million contract in 2010 to build the GPS ground segment, according to the report by Anthony Cappacio.
Cappacio writes the U.S. Defense Department launched a review of the program in December to determine the efforts of Raytheon and the Air Force to address GPS OCX development cost and delivery challenges.
Ramundo told Bloomberg in an email he believes that measures will allow the company and the military service to determine an “economical” method for the program moving forward.
