Rockwell Collins will provide its integrated cockpit flight and mission display system and other avionics and mission equipment for U.S. Air Force combat rescue helicopters under a subcontract with Sikorsky Aircraft.
Rockwell Collins said Monday the contract also includes navigation radios and the ARC-210 V/UHF communication system with civil interoperability.
“To make sure Air Force pilots are able to conduct search and rescue operations safely, it’s vital that they have the most advanced avionics available to improve situational awareness while enhancing mission capability,” said Troy Brunk, vice president and general manager of airborne solutions at Rockwell Collins.
The cockpit display system for the HH-60W CRH is based on technology currently fielded with the U.S. Army‘s Black Hawk helicopters, Rockwell Collins added.
Sikorsky’s CRH engineering and manufacturing development contract includes options to field as many as 112 HH-60W helicopters.
