Aerojet Rocketdyne has moved to expand its Camden, Arkansas-based facility in an effort to create fresh programs in the area.
The company will receive state and local incentives for the new buildings on the 1,200-acre facility, Aerojet Rocketdyne said Thursday.
The expansion effort is expected to open 85 new jobs.
“We are delighted to be able to expand our capabilities and workforce here and grateful for the way that [Arkansas] Governor [Asa] Hutchinson and local leaders have welcomed our growth,” said Eileen Drake, Aerojet Rocketdyne CEO and president.
Aerojet Rocketdyne also dedicated a 12-megawatt solar field being built in East Camden that it expects to provide electricity for up to 2,400 homes in collaboration with partners Arkansas Electric Cooperative, Ouachita Electric Cooperative and Southern Arkansas University Tech.
