TeleCommunication Systems has unveiled its Lynx portfolio of portable routers that works to provide wireless broadband communications to law enforcement, public safety, special operations and other public-sector organizations.
The company said Monday the product line includes Lynx Rugged Vehicle Router and Lynx Wearable Router and supports in-vehicle video surveillance, locations services, Vehicle Area Network and other mobile applications.
“Public safety organizations, federal agencies and military echelons are frequently challenged with connectivity issues as an increasing number of technology-driven activities… are being generated in the field,” said Michael Bristol, group president of the TCS government solutions unit.
“Secure, resilient, high-performance wireless connectivity in and around the vehicle is often vital to mission-critical applications.”
TCS added that Lynx also works to provide capabilities that facilitate organizations’ efforts toward the Internet of Things and interoperability over cellular 3G/4G LTE Wide Area Network or Wi-Fi networks.
