The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency will hold an event at its campus in Springfield, Virginia, on Sept. 14 to discuss the agency’s Next Generation initiative with industry and overview NGA’s technology and services requirements.
NGA said in a notice posted Aug. 7 on FedBizOpps that the NGA Operations Technology Solution Discovery Day also intends to promote collaborations with the private sector in work to address the agency’s challenges.
Orrin Mills, director of source operations group at NGA’s source operations and management directorate, will host the event.
NGA said discussion topics at the event will include GEOINT-related data collection; growth of commercial firms that offer simulation, analytics and cloud services; and emergence of satellite and geospatial companies that offer open-source analytics services.
The agency’s NextGen Tasking Initiative Team will also overview processes to improve collection requests caused by expected and recurring events and ways for NGA to adopt in order to secure the required data from both unclassified and classified collection platforms.
