Lockheed Martin has received a contract to build and install two Sniper Advanced Targeting Pods aboard the Taiwan air force’s F-16 fighter planes.
The Sniper ATP platform will work to provide Taiwan air force pilots a visual tool for use in intelligence, precision targeting, reconnaissance and surveillance operations, Marc Nazon, Sniper international program manager at Lockheed, said Thursday.
Lockheed’s Sniper ATP system is designed to detect and track tactical small targets.
The contract also calls for the company to provide support services for the integration of LANTIRN extended range navigation and targeting pods onboard the international military agency’s updated F-16 jets.
