Northrop Grumman, United Technologies Corp.‘s research center and HRL Laboratories have received contracts to help the U.S. Department of Homeland Security develop user authentication platforms for mobile devices, Fedscoop reported Thursday.
Greg Otto writes DHS awarded $2.2 million to HRL, $1.7 million to Northrop and $790,000 to United Technologies Research Center.
Northrop will develop a machine learning-based technology for DHS to track mobile device user behavior, alert users of anomalies and lock or wipe devices that cannot be re-activated, according to Fedscoop.
UTRC aims to build a system for assessments of continuous risks in mobile devices and management of credentials through its contract and HRL will create a platform to detect anomalous behavior from mobile device sensors, Otto reports.
