Crunchy Data Solutions has launched a new open source database system to help government clients meet relational database requirements for a computer facility.
The MLS PostgreSQL database builds on the existing PostgreSQL system and is designed to integrate with Red Hat’s Enterprise Linux 6.5+ SELinux functionality, Crunchy said Thursday.
Crunchy CEO Bob Laurence said the database provides an open source alternative to legacy relational database technologies.
Clients will work to handle data creation and manipulation permissions and control data access through MLS PostgreSQL, according to Crunchy.
The Red Hat and Crunchy compatibility also aims to help users with a higher security level view lower-level security data, Crunchy says.
