Jacobs Engineering Group has received an extension to its contract with Lend Lease to provide infrastructure design services for the New Air Combat Capability project in Australia.
Jacobs said Tuesday its support for the project will cover acoustics, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, security, structural and other schematic, detailed and final design aspects.
According to the company, the NACC project is focused on facility development and refurbishment at 10 Australian defense sites — including the Williamtown and Tindal air force bases — in support of the country’s new fleet of Lockheed Martin‘s F-35A Lightning II jets.
The contract extension expands the scope of a 2011Â deal for the NACC initial planning phase, Jacobs noted.
Construction at RAAF Base Williamtown for the $1 billion project began this year, with work completion at all 10 sites scheduled for 2022.
