An Elbit Systems subsidiary will install an updated vision tool on board the Comac C919 narrow-body aircraft under a contract awarded by Shanghai Avionics Corp.

Elbit Systems of America landed the contract for the Kollsman Enhanced Vision System-Superior Performance platform through East Wonder, its sales representative, Elbit Systems said Friday.

The EVS-SP technology is designed to allow C919 pilots to maneuver through low visibility conditions, according to the company.

Raanan Horowitz, president and CEO of Elbit Systems of America, said the EVS-SP is designed for use in the areas of aviation safety and flexibility.
