SGI Corp. has won a contract to collaborate with ComnetCo on energy research and simulations for the Idaho National Laboratory.
SGI will supply its ICE X system intended to power nuclear reactor simulations at the lab“™s high performance computing center, SGI said Wednesday.
“SGI is pleased to work with INL once again to provide the SGI ICE X system for its critically important work in energy research and simulations,” said Jorge Titinger, president and CEO of SGI.
INL ordered a 684-node SGI ICE X cluster built with the Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 v3 from SGI.
Battelle Energy Alliance manages the lab“™s daily operations related to software development for analytical research.
