Carlos Echalar has been appointed chief human resources officer at construction and engineering company CDM Smith.
CDM Smith CEO Steve Hickox said May 28 Echalar “will work closely with our executive leadership team in aligning global human resources and business operations to drive growth, develop talent, increase efficiency and improve business performance.â€
Prior to joining CDM Smith, Echalar served as CHRO at technology firm MICROS Systems, which was purchased by Oracle in 2014.
He has also held senior HR executive roles at ManTech International, Computer Sciences Corp., and Science Applications International Corp.
Echalar holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Old Dominion University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business.
