Shipyard of the Future BillThe state government of Mississippi has invested $20 million in Huntington Ingalls Industries’ shipyard development project.

Gov. Phil Bryant joined other state officials and Ingalls Shipbuilding President Brian Cuccias in a ceremonial signing of the bond bill that supports the Shipyard of the Future project, Huntington Ingalls said Friday.

“Mississippi’s financial investment in our Shipyard of the Future project will help maintain jobs and supplier opportunities in Pascagoula and across Mississippi for years to come,” said Cuccias.

The investment will be used to build new covered facilities for shipbuilders and a new dry dock.

Ingalls provides jobs for 11,000 employees in Pascagoula.
