Avaya will provide Core Systems rugged computer technology, including commercial off-the-shelf and custom servers, to the U.S. Navy for installation on six aircraft carriers and two littoral combat ships.
Core Systems said Tuesday the Navy will also use its technology for systems training at the Navy School House in San Diego.
Robert Johns, global account manager for Avaya’s Navy shipboard business, said the partnership has worked to build up shipboard unified communications for the Navy.
Avaya will also provide Core Systems servers and displays to the service as part of a five-year contract for integrated voice communications systems on up to 32 CG and DDG destroyers, Core Systems added.
