Verizon‘s enterprise business is expanding its partner program to the public sector by training partners to deliver the company’s services to U.S. government customers, CRN reported Tuesday.

Mark Haranas writes that the public sector channel program seeks to meet the needs of government agencies for communications, cloud, Internet of Things, mobility and networking technologies and services.

“Training, certification, deal registration, Net neutral compensation — all of those things are now in place where we will be able to work with our public sector team to build and develop a partner ecosystem to go along with our traditional sales team,” Adam Famularo, vice president of global channels at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, told CRN.

He added that Verizon’s sales team will work with a partner’s team to create go-to-market strategies for the sector.

Alex Hart, a former public sector sales executive at VMware and Symantec, has joined Verizon to lead the new public sector channel program as managing director, the report said.

“He has deep executive relationships and knowledge of how that marketplace works and operates and the partners that reside within it,” Famularo said.

Haranas reports that channel partners will have access to the Verizon Partner Portal.
