Jan Hamby, a retired U.S. Navy rear admiral, has joined the board of directors of Cubic Corp.
She also serves as chancellor of the National Defense University’s information resources management college, Cubic said Monday.
Walter Zable, executive chairman of Cubic’s board, said the company sought Hamby’s cybersecurity and information technology background to aid in how Cubic deals with cyber issues.
The three-decade IT veteran is also a former deputy chief information officer for the Defense Department, where she helped to implement telecommunications, satellite and computer systems for data availability to all levels of command.
Hamby was a two-time commanding officer of critical telecommunications and technology services organizations, a technology and general strategist at the senior levels of the DoD staffs, chairperson of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and commander of multi-national force in Iraq.
