HP Enterprise Services will continue to handle the Medicaid information system of Arkansas under a new seven-year, $190 million contract with the state’s Department of Human Services.
HP will extend its term as state’s Medicaid fiscal agent and process customer claims through the company’s interChange Medicaid management information system, HP said Tuesday.
The contract contains a one-year base period and six one-year options.
Susan Arthur, vice president of U.S. health and life sciences Industry at HP, said the company has worked with Arkansas to manage the MMIS system since 1985.
The MMIS system is designed to help healthcare providers receive claims adjudication and resolution services and provide Medicaid clients access to their information via a client website.
After the implementation process, Arkansas will use the system for provider enrollment, claims processing, reporting and audit functions, HP says.
