Keith Salzman has held the position of chief medical information officer for IBM‘s federal business since April 2014.
He previously served as CMIO at CACI International, where he supported efforts to expand the company’s clinical informatics and healthcare information technology offerings.
Salzman was also CMIO for the U.S. Army‘s Madigan Army Medical Center under the Western Regional Medical Command before joining the private sector in 2011.
He served as a military physician with the Army for more than 20 years and worked to build health information sharing and interoperability between the Department of Veterans Affairs and Military Health System.
Salzman helped establish the clinical informatics division within MHS.
He chaired the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s interoperability and standards committee from 2012 through 2014 and was a recipient of the organization’s Physician IT Leadership Award in February 2014.
