Rockwell Collins and DRS Technologies‘ training and control systems business have partnered to help U.S. and international air forces develop air combat training capabilities that utilize the Common Range Integrated Instrumentation System.
Rockwell said Thursday the Joint Secure Air Combat Training System combines weapon simulation, aircraft integration and air combat training, and features a Multiple Independent Levels of Security architecture.
“The open architecture allows integration of third-party applications to support future upgrades, advanced weapon simulations and the emerging needs for supporting Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) training operations,” said Tommy Dodson, vice president and general manager of surface solutions at Rockwell Collins.
Larry Ezell, vice president of DRS Training & Control Systems, added that the capability also works to enable interoperability between systems.
