CAE and NorthStar Aviation have signed a partnership agreement to develop flight simulation and training products for the NorthStar Aviation-built 407MRH multirole helicopter, Shephard Media reported Monday.
Darren Lake writes CAE will use 407MRH flight test data to replicate the aircraft’s performance as well as mission and weapon systems for simulator technology development.
“Simulation-based training has proven to be ideal for enhancing safety, proficiency and mission readiness when preparing helicopter aircrews,” Gene Colabatistto, group president for defense and security at CAE, told Shephard Media.
He added CAE and NorthStar Aviation aim to offer the resulting flight simulator product to 407MRH operators worldwide, according to Lake’s article.
NorthStar Aviation’s helicopter is based on the Bell 407GX aircraft and designed to perform ISR, light attack and close air support missions.
