Neel Mehta
John Abeles is the founder, president, and chief executive officer of System 1, an information technology and infrastructure security company that he founded in 1989.
The more than 30-year public and private sector veteran has led the company’s efforts to build platforms for civilian, intelligence and commercial clients, as well as provide policy development support to multiple federal agencies.
He is an author, and speaker addressing the development industry standards and publications.
Prior to launching his own business, Abeles was vice president of operations and quality assurance manager at Dibenedetto Associates and worked with utility operators to help them manage plant modernization and recovery programs.
He also served as a QA manager at consulting firms Nutech Engineering and Impell, where he provided quality management services to clients across the power sector.
He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from Cornell University.
