DynCorp International has received the Diamond Award for Excellence from the Federal Aviation Administration for three programs in 2015 that have a 100-percent completion rate for aviation maintenance training among the company’s eligible technicians.
DynCorp said Monday the Diamond Award is both a corporate recognition and individual award for its mechanics as part of FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician Award program.
The award works to foster safety in aviation programs through the commitment of maintenance technicians to build on their technical knowledge, the company said.
The programs included in the recognition are the U.S. Air Force‘s Very Important Person Special Air Mission at Joint Base Andrews-Naval Air Facility Washington, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection program and the Air Force Materiel Command‘s T-6 program.
The Joint Base Andrews program, a 12-time recipient of the Diamond Award, includes DynCorp’s aircraft maintenance, munitions, base supply and transient alert services for VIPSAM and is led by Len Campbell, senior program director at Andrews Support Division.
The CAL FIRE program, a four-time award recipient, is led by Program Manager Jeffrey Cavarra and includes maintenance of the Grumman S-2T air tankers, OV-10A aircraft and UH-1H Super Huey helicopters.
The T-6 program, a three-time awardee led by Program Director Blake Mathies, includes Contractor Operated and Maintained Base Supply facility operations to deliver spare parts for T-6A and T-6B aircraft.
